Schloss 1, Aschau Im Chiemgau
The small shop in Schloss Hohenaschau invites you to enjoy coffee and cake or a snack on the panoramic terrace or in the garden. You can also buy small souvenirs of Hohenaschau Castle or the town of Aschau there.
The small cemetery at the castle is interesting insofar as the manufacturer of the 'Nürnberger MAN-Werke' was raised to the baron status, was awarded the castle complex as a Fideikommiß and renovated it from the bottom up and added extensions. That happened in the years after the founding of the empire in 1871. Apparently, according to the epitaph, he was a devout and socially sensitive gentleman.
Very nice castle, good tour and great view.
Hohenaschau Castle is a wonderful vacation home! Our apartment is really great and suitable for at least 4 people. The common rooms are in very good condition. We feel very comfortable here and would love to come back here again!
Great and worth seeing tour of the castle
Nice guide very informative
Very nice read, wonderful place.
A magnificent castle! Only the radio mast disturbs the sight a little.
I expected a little more, the climb is only worthwhile if you want to take a tour. However, there are currently a maximum of 20 places per day.
Kind staff and great historical building with a small but informativ museum that is in German
We stayed in the castle. The castle is incredibly large and interesting. The rooms are spacious, but the distances are very long due to the size of the castle. Each room has its own kitchen and bathroom. However, everything can be quite far apart. The way from the kitchen to the common rooms can sometimes be 100m. It's a big castle. But exploring the castle is great and a little adventure. Conclusion: You need staff Für for such a lock
A beautiful castle on the hill overlooking the Kampenwand Mountains, within easy reach. The castle offers beautiful views of the surroundings.
Wonderfully located castle 120m above Aschau, steep ascent also on the driveway, which is closed to public traffic, unfortunately only reopened in April.
A very competent tour guide, lots to learn about Bavarian aristrocrats and former life at the castle.
Though seen as the " also" castle when your next to the neuschwanstein, it ends up being one of the highlights of the entire vacation, you feel it was well loved and loved in by the Bavarian nobles
Spontaneously drove to the guide. Over the Ministranten way up to the castle and in small round a guidance in the lock get. Historically, the many rooms offer some stories. The equipment, which has been preserved, impressed. It's hard to believe what has happened here and what else is there. A nice afternoon program
The castle is only partially accessible, the castle chapel, a piece of basement (kitchen), dining room and 3-4 rooms without equipment. There is a small museum of history of iron processing and the last owners of the castle. Everything renovated and maintained.Pekny hled.Malinka garden under the zamkem.Drobne snacks and souvenirs.Parking down, road uphill through the woods or closed road.Entering 5 Euro.View only certain days and hours, need to plan
Love this area
Private castle and partially used, thus accessible with strong hourly restrictions (not every day), with only one-hour tour in German, and perhaps also in English: "perhaps" because we were told that our would in English, and instead it was in German. Fortunately we were given a sheet with a summary of the guide, but not at all taken care of in the translation, which makes reading difficult and not always understandable. The ticket costs € 5 and is valid for a visit to the castle or for a small permanent exhibition there. Too bad, however, that the show is only in German, and with very bad maintenance (there are mechanical models, but some work only partially, the others just don't work). The castle itself is very interesting, because of the original structure remains very little because of subsequent restructuring, differ only in the dining room decorated with frescoes and stuccoed rooms on the upper floor. You can not park at the entrance of the castle, but at the foot of the hill which is built there is plenty of free parking, and within 15-20 minutes of fairly steep climb you will arrive at the castle gates. Overall, the ticket is not worth a visit for those who do not speak German, the usability for foreigners is bad.
Very nice 👍 😊 is
Unfortunately, only one guide a day
There is a specific
A must do in Chiemgau holiday. For kids and adults a great experience with knights and witches stories. Guided tours on Aschau tourism bookable.
Interesting tour. Lots of fabric covered in white cloth. You must get there early for your booked tour. Be sure to leave lots and lots of time to get there. Sparse bus service. Big queues. Check the bus times back. DON'T miss the last bus down after visit as we did. It a long walk down to the town.
Very nice castle with an interesting history. A guide is definitely worth it. One has from the roof terrace a great view of the surroundings.
A beautiful castle that was built in the Baroque and Baroque. It is beautifully situated on a hill and is surrounded by mountains. From there you have a nice view of the surrounding landscape. The guide is comprehensive, interesting and detailed. The Schlossfüherin is very nice and accommodating. The burgladerl is nicely furnished. For families, the children's guide is interesting, because there the children get their money. The falconry is worth seeing. The falcon show is interesting and lovingly designed. There is much information about the birds of prey and the falconry trade. Also very nice destination for families.
If you have time, you can come here to have a coffee.

Fantastic place with kind people. Feeling like a prince... ☺
From the rides with the Kampenwandbahn there is a fantastic view of Hohenaschau Castle. Unfortunately, guided tours are not offered for spontaneous tourists. So we could only look at the castle from the outside on a Friday afternoon. This Hohenaschau Castle is sure to lose visitors on a regular basis. Because holidays are based on a lot of spontaneity and not on meticulous time planning. Too bad.
Not opened When it should be opened I was here in 13:40 and it’s still closed
